BOTOX®: Wrinkle Releasers
Glow Coast Medical Spa offers uses BOTOX® and Dysport as neuromuscular blocking agents to prevent or reverse the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What are neurotoxins?
Botox and Dysport are neuromuscular blocking agents that work by temporarily paralyzing targeted muscles, smoothing out dynamic wrinkles that come from years of laughing, frowning, and everything in between.
As we age, our skin's cell turnover decreases, leading to static wrinkles—those deep lines visible even without facial expressions. With neurotoxins you can always add, you cannot take away; we believe in individualizing each dose based on your desired results, never changing your "look," only refreshing and brightening the skin you're in! Each treatment is meticulously tailored to your unique facial structure and aesthetic goals. By adjusting doses and precisely targeting areas, we ensure that the results are just right—not overdone, just your authentic self, enhanced.
Whether it is your first time exploring neurotoxins, want to start with one area or more, we are here to guide you every step of the way ensuring Botox becomes your BFF too!

Areas of Treatment
Upper Face
Typical Units: 12-24
The forehead has three areas that muscles work together and can be treated individually or all together with BOTOX® The neurotoxins work to subtly smooth your fine lines and static wrinkles without altering your appearance.

Frontalis (forehead)
A typical forehead treatment requires anywhere from 5 to 10 injections. For deep set static wrinkles more units may be needed. We recommend starting at 12-20 units.

11's (Glabella)
Whether it’s squinting from the sun or straining to read small print, we are always using the muscles between our eyebrows. What wrinkle releasers in the 11’s will do is weaken those muscles which will soften your expressions, thus preventing the formation of static wrinkles between your eyebrows. Since these muscles tend to be larger and stronger than the frontalis, they require more units of BOTOX® to freeze.
Typical treatment 16-26 units

Crows feet
Crow’s feet are known as wrinkles that appear when you smile around your eyes. Typically anywhere from 6-12 units are injected on each side of the face, depending on how deep and where the wrinkles are.
Lip Flip
Typical Units: 8-10
The Lip Flip can treat a gummy smile and add subtle volume, a great alternative to lip fillers. The Lip Flip causes the superficial muscles around to mouth to relax. This creates the illusion of fuller lips without adding any volume. Just three to four simple injections gives you a subtle boost of volume to reveal your perfect pout.

Mid Face
Typical Units: 12-24
Bunny lines are fine wrinkles that occur around your nose when laughing or scrunching your face. Typically 2-4 units are injected to smooth these lines.

Nose lift
BOTOX works to lift the tip of the nose and reduce nasal flaring when injected into the tip and sides of the nostrils
Typical units 8-14
Masseters
Typical Units: 20-40 per side
By injecting BOTOX® into the masseter (jaw muscle), we are able to promote facial slimming and reduce TMJ symptoms. Typically, 10-30 units of BOTOX® are injected on each side of the face to help weaken the enlarged jaw muscle. This treatment may require multiple sessions over time to reach the desired effects.
Full face correction
Typical Units: 65-90 units
Treating Upper, mid, lower face, and the neck allows for a smooth transition without looking overdone. Areas can be treated individually or in combination based on the patients desired results and anatomy. We work to reduce static lines, preventing jowling, lifting, lengthen.
Lower Face
Typical Units: 6-12
Chin
As we age the chin can start to recess and create a submental crease. Chins can also have a dimpling or orange peeled appearance. BOTOX® in the mentalis muscle allows for the skin around the chin to smoothen and reduces the appearance of a receding chin.
6-10 units

DOA
the DOA muscle is a small muscle that controls the corners of your mouth and have a pull down affect as we age. Injecting 2-4 units of Botox works to lift and prevent worsening frown lines

Nefertiti Lift
Botox along the jawline works to release the pull down from the neck muscles, reducing jowling and heaviness resulting in a lifted jawline. We recommend doing this treatment in combination with the platysma bands for a lifted and elongated lower face appearance.
12-20 units
Neck
Typical Units: 14-40
As we age our neck skin can loose elasticity and start to "loosen," appear textured, and develop static horizontal lines.
Treating the Platysma bands smooths and lengthens the neck
18-30 units

A Tox wash works to treat horizontal lines with superficially injected BOTOX
15-25 units
Typical Treatment
The entire process takes about 10-15 min. We will talk about your areas of concern and assess the face to any asymmetry. We will then clean the area and inject very low doses of BOTOX® into specific areas of the face. Very little redness/ swelling will occur after. Bruising can also happen and is recommended not to take Advil or Ibuprofen 48 hours before treatment. Pricing varies based on units and areas treated. Average cost $350-750.
Pre-Treatment
Post-Treatment
BOTOX® can be done anytime! There are no major restrictions prior to your appointment, just come with a fresh face (or not!) and stop taking any NSAIDS 48 hours before your appointment.
What is a unit? Each unit of Botox is 0.1 cc (a tiny amount!) Certain muscles that are bigger require bigger units, some smaller muscles do not require as much.
First timer and nervous?! Let us know! We will always make sure each appointment is comfortable and all questions are addressed and answered before injecting!
You can resume normal activity after injections immediately. The few activities to avoid are exercising and facials until the following day. You will see results in about 3-14 days. After 14 days we recommend a follow up to ensure smooth and even dispersal of product.
Still have movement after? We will discuss dosage vs. duration each visit to explain how neurotoxins work, suggested units, and what to expect starting with a lower dose for more movement, always ensuring a dose that will deliver results is given!
